80th Anniversary of Cape Cod Bridges Nears

Two of FST's founders, Frederic Fay and Charles Spofford, were the men most responsible for the design of the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges. If you travel over either bridge, you'll see a plaque recognizing Fay, Spofford & Thorndike, Inc. as the "designing and supervising engineers."  The stately bridges over the Canal were groundbreaking examples of structural engineering in their day, and still serve the community well. recently published an article celebrating the coming 80th anniversary of these bridges entitled, "Spanning The Cape's Divide: The Canal Bridges."
