Middleborough Rotary Redesign Goes Public

December 4, 2014

On Thursday, December 4, 2014, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation released the redesign of the Middleborough Rotary at Route 44 and I-495 to the public. FST is the engineer of record on the project.

The Enterprise newspaper of Brockton reported, "The proposed project will replace the existing rotary with a modern roundabout, including a flyover for Route 44. Route 44 will be placed on a bridge over the new roundabout and an improved ramp to Interstate 495 northbound will be constructed. Local traffic on routes 18 and 28 will pass through the new roundabout and have access to all routes when completed."

The paper also quoted Middleboro Planning Director Ruth E. Geoffroy, who said, "I like it a lot. It looks like everything we wanted."
