The Future of Stormwater: Keeping Clean Water in Your Community
Weir River Environmental Forum on April 23rd, 2014
Katy M. Konary, P.E., was a featured speaker and panelist at the Weir River Environmental Forum on April 23, 2014, at South Shore Country Club in Hingham, MA. The topic was "The Future of Stormwater: Keeping Clean Water in Your Community."
Konary's presentation, "Watershed Management and Stormwater Bylaw," addressed multiple issues related to stormwater management, including what happens as a watershed develops, the impacts of development, hydrology concepts and low-impact development examples, an approach to developing a stormwater bylaw, and how to implement a stormwater bylaw. Konary, an engineer based in FST's Plymouth office, then served as one of three panelist asked questions by Scott McIsaac of the Hingham Conservation Commissioner and the audience. This Forum was part of a popular evening series, sponsored by the Aquarion Water Company in partnership with the Weir River Watershed Association, Hingham and Hull Land Conservation Trusts, Straits Pond Watershed Association, and Weir River Estuary Park Committee, to educate residents on issues facing the Weir River Watershed.
