FST #213, Jumps 32 Places on ENR List of Top Design Firms.

May 10, 2013

BURLINGTON, Massachusetts – Fay, Spofford & Thorndike (FST) was recently recognized as #213 in the ENR 500, which is the firm’s highest all-time ranking in the 40-year history of Engineering-News Record’s annual measure of the top design firms in North America.

The ranking is based on gross revenue of $49.1 million for calendar year 2012, an amount nearly $10 million more than the previous year. This increase in revenue resulted in a jump of 32 places in the ENR ranking, placing FST among the fastest-rising firms on this year’s list.

“The improvement in our ENR ranking is a tribute to the work ethic and commitment of our entire staff,” says FST President & CEO Peter J. Howe. “Our traditional markets have faced tremendous funding challenges in recent years, but we continue to adapt to the changing markets. We worked hard at developing new business and at doing whatever it took to deliver outstanding service to our clients. The goal now is to keep the momentum going.”

The ENR recognition is the latest among several that the firm has received. The Boston Business Journal reported that FST is the sixth-largest engineering firm in Massachusetts, as well as one of the 100 largest privately held companies in the commonwealth. The company was also recently honored with awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies, the Construction Management Association of America and other industry groups.

Headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, FST is comprised of four divisions Transportation, Structural, Environmental (Water/Wastewater) and Facilities. The firm provides services nationally and internationally from eight offices throughout the Northeast. For more information, contact Jerry Guerra at 781-221-1299 or
