About this Project

FST's services for the Portland Jetport include airport engineering and permitting for a wide range of projects involving airfield pavement improvements, NAVAIDS, aircraft aprons and new access roads.  The total value of the infrastructure improvements completed and designed/managed by FST over the past 5 years exceeds $30 million.

Our latest projects included preparation of Environmental Assessment and MeDEP Site Location of Development & NRPA, US Army Corps of Engineers Water Quality Certification and Local Municipality Permitting for approximately $120 million worth of projects associated with the facility’s 5-year Capital Improvement Plan.  Projects within this contract are listed as follows:

  • Expansion of existing terminal building and associated apron
  • Improvements to the Runway 29 runway safety area (RSA)
  • Removal of Wetlands at the end of Runway 29 for wildlife management purposes
  • Improvement of Runway 18 runway safety area
  • Extension of Runway 18-36 and parallel Taxiway C, 1,100 feet to the south
  • Relocation of airport access roads to accommodate the improvements to Runway 29 and Runway 36
