About this Project
For the Town of Plymouth, CT, FST completed the design of a 300,000 gallon water storage tank; a water booster pumping station; over 36,000 lf of 8-inch and 12-inch water main to connect the Fall Mountain Lake Area (FMLA) with the Terryville water system, which is located in the Town, and 7,000 linear feet of 12-inch water main to extend the Thomaston system east along Route 6.
The storage tank is located on an undeveloped wooded lot off of Fall Mountain Lake Terrace within the Town. The pump station is located at the intersection of Mountain Road and Town Line Road, that is in the Town of Bristol on land owned by the Connecticut Water Company.
The Fall Mountain Lake residents of the Town's Terryville area faced a real need for a safe and reliable water supply for drinking water and for fire protection. Expanded residential development around the FMLA had resulted in an increase in complaints regarding the quality and the quantity of water received through private wells. This project extended the Terryville water system to include the FMLA, allowing area residents to connect to the public system.
