About this Project
FST was selected by MTA NYCT to perform a comprehensive “hands-on” inspection at 16 NYC subway passenger stations. The inspection focused on areas of the station structure that are typically concealed by architectural suspended ceiling panels. Work included condition assessment of both the structural elements and the architectural ceiling systems; performance of any required material testing; and development of short and long term recommendations to address the observed defects in order to bring the structural ceilings to a state of good repair. The inspection typically required contractor support to erect scaffolding, partially disassemble the suspended ceiling for inspection and reassemble the ceiling after inspection was complete. Nighttime inspection during train service diversions was typically required to minimize passenger services disruptions.
