Mill River Bicycle & Pedestrian Path

Mill River Bicycle & Pedestrian Path

Stamford, CT

About this Project

An important element of a new City centerpiece, a 26-acre greenway along the River, is a pedestrian and bicycle way designed by FST. The bikeway moves users through a variety of environments in a relatively short distance. A stand of cherry trees along the river afforded an opportunity to create a green tunnel for bikeway users. The path through the cherries also provides wonderful resting areas along the river’s edge.

Considerations of traffic and potential conflicts with trail users were paramount in FST’s design focus.
