About this Project
To accommodate increased parking demand, FST evaluated an existing parking lot and prepared four conceptual design plans to meet projected parking needs. The plans incorporated the existing lot, an adjacent lot, and a combination of the two. Also, the firm prepared conceptual landscaping plans. Elements included parking lot design complete with grading and drainage details, lighting plans with light contour levels, and landscape planting plans, including both construction drawings and renderings.
A traffic engineering study was performed for the existing lot and an adjacent undeveloped lot. This included turning movement and spot parking counts during morning and afternoon peak hours, evaluation of existing parking supply, and estimated actual demand. The results of the study were presented to the Library Board and the community.
The contract also included asbestos assessment of two residential buildings slated for demolition.
Subsequently, FST provided the civil engineering for library expansion, which included a complete building renovation, new parking lot, utilities upgrade, and new site landscaping and streetscapes.
FST obtained all necessary permits for septic upgrades, new RPZ/water service, and electrical upgrades. FST also prepared construction documents for bid, analysis of bid, certified permits, and was involved in the construction support for facilities construction.
